Funding Story
During Josh's experience in public policy and electoral politics, he noticed something wasn't adding up while researching how elected officials voted: public statements, headlines, and social media narratives often didn't align with their voting records. Even well-intentioned people were confidently repeating information that was incomplete, misleading, or flat-out wrong. The problem was that people didn't have access to trustworthy information. Voting records were hard to find, harder to interpret, and nearly impossible to contextualize without legal or policy expertise, even for the experienced voter.
By 2023, Josh and Julius saw the pattern everywhere. People wanted to be informed, but civic information was: buried in dense legal language, scattered across disconnected sources, and filtered through partisan framing before people saw the facts. Civic literacy wasn't declining because people didn't care. It was declining because the system was failing the needs of real Americans.
Josh and Julius started asking different questions: What if civic education became a habit? What if understanding a bill could take minutes, not hours? What if voting records could be clear, neutral, and transparent? Elect Better was born from that idea: Civic fluency without partisan noise.
The team built an AI-powered civic intelligence engine that: reads legislation like a policy analyst, translates bills into plain language at multiple reading levels, tracks voting records across all levels of government, and verifies claims with transparent, primary-source citations. Everything was designed to be neutral, accurate, and habit-forming, so people could learn the facts before they were asked to vote.
David joins the Elect Better founding team to build the marketing engine that drives growth and traction of the platform as the waitlist opens up early user access. The mission hasn't changed since 2019: To make civic intelligence accessible, engaging, and accurate for all.

David is a marketing leader who transforms complex technologies into compelling narratives that drive growth. His journey from overcoming a childhood speech impediment to becoming a VP-level executive in 10 years taught him that storytelling is the bridge between innovation and adoption. He's built category-dominating go-to-market systems generating $20B in revenue impact, and brings that same narrative-driven approach to making civic intelligence accessible to everyone.
